chapter 22

Sid was sitting at his cubicle typing away on an excel spread sheet, he heard footsteps getting louder until he heard a familiar voice. “Have you seen David?” it was his boss; Sid looked up “me? Not since yesterday””yesterday? But you weren’t here.””We hung out, go figure” Sid said flippantly. The boss seemed stressed “the board wants to see you, they heard you have an important presentation” a smile cracked across his face “Oh I do, thank you sir” he said enthusiastically, almost too much he thought to himself. “They’ll see you tomorrow””okay, thank you sir” Sid said gratefully, going back to work. He sat there writing down random numbers; after all, he hadn’t intended on keeping the job. He started thinking of his plan, how he would eliminate every single person in that room.
Now there is the concept of controlled explosives, plastic explosive placed in strategetic locations throughout the base of the building, the bigger they are as they say. Another option would be a silenced semi-automatic; there are twelve shots in the clip, and twelve members of the board, so this one requires a great deal of skill. There is poison, he could spike all their drinks, everyone likes being given a drink, who says no? He remembered the conference room had a window on one side of it, the building across from which is an old abandoned sky scraper that loomed monolithically above the city, affectionately called “That giant shithole” it’s always empty, a good spot for taco and her crew to snipe them without any trouble. He had so many ideas; his eyes showed intensity they hadn’t shown in years.
After work he walked cautiously down the hallway to his apartment room, hoping beyond hope that the man he had met earlier wasn’t still waiting. He found out to his dismay the man was still waiting “good you’re home, we have much to discuss” Sid let slip an audible groan “fuck, what do you want?” “I have an important mission for you” Sid thought for a second “that sounds reasonable, tell you what, come see me tomorrow, something tells me I’ll be out of a job, now out, out out! out! out! out!” Sid said hastily, scooting the man out the door. He had to be alone, he had to prepare.
