“Immediately, if possible” Sid said coolly “alright then” Harry said standing up, Sid stood up as well and they shook hands “welcome to the Globo-chem family, do you have any questions?” as Sid partook in the awkward activity called “shaking hands” he could swear he felt lighter than usual “yes actually, where is the employee bathroom?” “Oh that?” Harry said “it’s just down the hall, I’m sure you can find it, welcome once again. Your cubicle is number forty six, we look forward to working with you” “alright thank you, sir” Sid knew you have to be tactful in these situations.
He didn’t actually need to use the bathroom but he needed to see what he looked like, he leaned in and stared at himself closely, his usually stringy long hair had been cut and his five o’ clock shadow was completely gone, he was in a nice little monkey suit, a little striped tie, black blazer and black pants. Somehow even the bags under his eyes were gone; he pulled off the look of a “normal person” quite well. After straightening his tie he walked back out and made his way over to his cubicle, he passed by a few conference rooms and a couple dozen cubicles. Once he got to his he attempted to settle in, this was going to be a long day.
“So, you’re the new guy, eh?” a man was peering over the cubicle walls “I’m Dave” he continued “I’m Sid, it’s nice to meet you” he said blankly. ”you bored too?” Dave asked, it was obvious he didn’t know what to say but was trying his darndest to say something “well yeah, just thinking about the fact that I’ll be stuck in this fucking maze of cubicles, to be frank, it scares me” Sid said forming a scowl on his face. “hey, it could be worse” Dave said “how so” Sid was genuinely curious “you could be working in customer service”.
